PACKING AND UNPACKING

For many people, packing and unpacking is the least favorite part of a move. And who can blame them, especially since after carefully packing and packing each item, sometimes after just a few days you have to repeat the whole process in reverse order: unpacking, finding a place for the items in the new apartment, disposing of packing materials and moving boxes (or finding a place to store them until the moving company picks them up). To help you pack and unpack your furniture move faster and more efficiently and to make this part of the move less stressful, the wisho trasport team has put together some packing and unpacking tips It is important to plan your move. Don't leave packing to the last minute! Perhaps you set a goal to pack a certain number of boxes per day starting two weeks before the move. You could also create a schedule for each room in the house, starting with the least used rooms and saving the bathroom and kitchen for last so you can still cook, clean and shower...! Don't forget the attic, shed, garage, outbuilding or other outbuildings and remember that you often end up storing a lot more than you initially think. As you're packing, think about which items you'll be taking with you to the new home and which you might be able to do without. This is especially important if you're downsizing. Taking an inventory will help your mover determine a time frame for the move. It sounds simple, but many people neglect to label their boxes. It's important that you write the items on each box. Also label boxes that contain fragile items like glass, ornaments, pictures or antique items that require special care. Labeling will also help prioritize which boxes to unpack first, for example, which ones you'll need to unpack first. E.g. basic kitchen or bathroom items so you can cook, clean, shower, etc. without having to dig through endless boxes at the end of the first busy day after your big move!
